Eric Wilhelm, DDS, is a highly skilled dentist who provides exceptional care for his patients at The Wilhelm Dental Group in La Plata, Maryland.
Dr. Wilhelm earned his dental degree from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery (now known as the University of Maryland School of Dentistry) in Baltimore. He joined his father’s practice in 1989 and purchased it eight years later.
Dr. Wilhelm is a third-generation dentist who has a strong foundation in dental traditions and tried-and-true techniques. He is particularly adept at combining his knowledge of dentistry’s past with the latest advances in the field. By utilizing state-of-the-art dental technology, he is able to give his patients truly beautiful smiles that last a lifetime.
Dr. Wilhelm is a lifelong resident of La Plata, and when he is not treating patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Ginger, and their adult children. He looks forward to meeting new patients in person and providing them with top-notch dental care.
Monica is a Dental Assistant in the Practice. She has been working as a Dental assistant since 2017 and has been working with Dr. Eric since 2022. Monica is extremely detail oriented and is instrumental in keeping the office running smoothly and conveying recommended treatment to our patients while creating a comfortable, positive experience in the chair. She has furthered her dental career through continuing education classes. When she is not in the office caring for patients, she is a busy Mom caring for her daughter. Monica's positive, professional, and happy demeanor is evident to all who enter the office.
A graduate of the Marquette University School of Dentistry’s dental hygiene program, Marie also minored in sociology with a focus on gerontology. She became a part of our team in August 2004. With over 17 years of experience and building relationships with patients at our office, 35 years in dental hygiene and 40-plus years in dentistry, she brings a unique understanding of a patient’s needs, limitations and concerns to help guide them to the best possible treatment outcomes.
Marie married her husband, Mark, in 1987, and they have three grown children. She is a church musician by avocation and also enjoys gardening, bird watching and hiking.
Ginger joined our office in 2002 and attended Central Connecticut State University. She worked as a dental assistant for many years before transitioning to the position of office manager. She is the first and last person you will see during your visit and coordinates treatments to ensure that everything runs smoothly for our team and patients. She loves getting to know our patients and finds it very rewarding to provide dental care in a friendly, safe and intimate environment.
Ginger is the proud mother of three adult children and two adult stepchildren. She enjoys painting, sewing and spending time with their children and her husband.
